Hi, does the spare A1200 have a floppy drive you can try with the first A1200 ?

 Where do you live?

If near France or Australia I can recommend two top blokes to fix it. From my experience you have a fried Paula chip (who controls de floppy unit) or a bad cable or cold joint on the 34pin header.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

No, he means have you tried the floppy drive from your spare A1200 in your main A1200? If that one also fails, you can be sure it's something with your main 1200.

Don't forget to check both the internal power- and datacables.

I can replace the pula chip if need be but tell me whwt chip controls the external floppy drive cuas it still works fine so maybe it is a cold or dry joint"
the floppy just makes a regular grinding noise but will not read any discs
