I'm wondering if the whole joke of a situation of OS4 is anywhere near being solved and if Amiga Inc ever did release that new hardware they were hinting at on their website many moons ago.

I bet the answers are not positive huh?  :roll:

On a happier note, I noticed Amiga Inc are selling It Came from the Desert on 2000/XP/Vista compatible versions for $4.99.  I also checked on the Cinemaware website to see if there was any mention of a 'digitally remastered' version of my 2nd favourite Cinemaware game ever and there was nothing I could see. So is this new version the same crappy EGA graphics and 8bit soundblaster crackly sound/pc speaker?

I e-mailed them back in December 2007 to possibly make a big order and become a "dealer" for them here in Canada.
Its now January 2009 and nobody has ever gotten back to the dozen or so e-mails I sent them. I think everyone is dead there, or with the massive amounts of lay offs, nobody is left to read e-mails.
I have Amiga stuff for sale at http://amigalounge.com. You can follow my builds there also.

Amiga Inc is nowhere to be seen while other amigalike stuff is anywhere you look at.

about: "it came from the desert"
I thought it's the Amiga version running on top of UAE, is it not?

Hmmm... AmigaAnywhere == UAE ?  :lol:

Has anyone sent them any pizza lately?
Perhaps they've starved to death.

btw. actually, UAE really is the true AmigaAnywhere, perhaps AmigaInc should take it further instead of messing with .NET / PocketPC stuff... UAE already runs on almost every device.

"I think everyone is dead there"

That would be tragic if that was the case. Poor Bill.

You need to be an attorney to understand how, in the AI vs. Hyperion case, a deadline can be extended from one date to another date that has already passed?

No, it's just that outside the courtroom, the attorneys, judges, clerks, et al are usually acquaintances, if not friends, and like all such relationships among co-workers, they're usually pretty easy going. Of course, that doesn't stop attorneys from trying to scoop each other, but they do tend to stay civil while keeping their clients' best interests in mind.

@orb

Thanks for that link!  I think the other document filed on 1/5 is more interesting.  It says that the court, Amiga, and Hyperion have been involved in settlement talks since 11/20/08.  The filing also has a new date to look forward to.

From the filing:

Amiga, Inc. and defendant Hyperion VOF and report that they have been actively engaged in settlement negotiations in this matter with the assistance of the Honorable Judge Kelley Arnold since November 20, 2008. Because the parties’ efforts were focused on those settlement efforts, they have not had the opportunity to review and agree upon a proposed discovery plan as required by FRCP 26(f). The parties accordingly request the indulgence of the Court to allow them until Tuesday, January 27, 2009, to submit that plan.

From the looks of it this crap is going to drag on for ages but you never know, I guess it could all come to and end abruptly (eg out-of-court settlement, kiss-and-make-up, bankruptcy or just common sense).

Doesn't it make you really angry that every owner of Amiga has done nothing with it since Medhi Ali bankrupt it with his inept decisions?

The strange thing is there is so many major changes you can make to an OS even now that if they had the intention they could make a machine that would sell in millions...ho hum...nothing changes then.

@Amiga_Nut

As others have said, Amiga Inc did not release any new hardware.

Amiga Inc does not and never has produced Amiga compatible software or hardware, they are a WIndows shop.

What we\'re witnessing is the sad, lonely crowing of that last, doomed cock.
