Using Amiga HD with WinUAE
« on: August 25, 2003, 10:00:38 PM »
Hey folks,

I understand the current release of WinUAE can access amigaos formatted hard drives...

I recently got a free 10G hard disk that I'd like to use in my a1200 (under OS3.5).

I only have a single 2.5inch to 3.5 inch ribbon cable in my amiga so I can't connect both my existing drive and the new one at the same time.

What I wanted to do was to partition and format the 10G drive on my amiga and then transferr all the data from my old drive to the new one via my PC (running Win2K) with WinUAE.

Has anybody tried this? I don't really want to connect my existing drive to the PC if there is any real risk that it might get screwed up :-)

First of all back up your data before messing with anything,  Yep i have tried it and still works fine under WinUAE (using a dedicated 4.3 gb harddrive taken from my ex Amiga A1200)
