winuae query
« on: August 22, 2003, 09:58:02 PM »
I'm having a problem with WinUAE. Whatever is responsible for regulating the delay for input devices is going way too fast. Consequently, I have to click very fast with the mouse in order to produce a double click, and the keyboard is so sensitive I can't help ttttyyyppppiiiinnggg   lllliiikkkeeee    thhhiiisss.

How can I remedy this problem?

                       Hi,

You must be using JIT with "Adjustable between CPU and Chipset" in settings/CPU Emulation Speed.

=> Go to settings->CPU Tab (Press F12 while running UAE) and select "Fastest possible but maintain chipset timing" for cpu emulation speed.

Hope this will help.

If not, please include a copy of your UAE configuration file...

Leo.

Actually, I had it on Fastest Possible setting when this problem first occured. I since put it in JIT which speeded up operations considerably including boot time, but the same problem prevailed.

Here's an idea of the extent of the problem... i logged into irc using amirc, and amirc started reporting '40 seconds of lag' after about 4 seconds.

Which version of WinUAE do you use ? Are you really sure that you have set the "fastest possible" option. It's the "maintain chipset timing" part of this option that really matters.

To slow down things significantly, turn on sound emulation.
