So the minimig is verified working with every SD/MMC card on the planet, regardless of size :-?

Hi!

I use a SD card Kingston 1GB and works fine.
I haven't notice about not working SD/MMC cards with MiniMig but in some sites: Straycat's Minimig page
talks about the speed of the card.

Hope it helps.
Regards.

I presume only card up to 2GB work with minimig, maybe some cards up to 4GB. The 2GB limit is typical due to FAT16 limitations, but the real border between SD and SDHC is at 4GB. I doubt there are many cards available that are more than 2GB, and that are not SDHC.

Adding support for SDHC sounds like an obvious upgrade possibility for the minimig :-)

I use a 2GB Transcend SD card (cheapo from Tiger Direct) with no problems.

For the record, I use a 256MB Ultra secure digital Card in my MMC Replay.

I have noticed some of the older cards (unbranded) run considerably slower. Stick to the main brands and 2GB max and you should be alright.

1) FAT16 can manage 4 GB filesystems.
2) Both standard SD and SDHC can handle 4 GB size. Standard SD need to handle block size = 4096 bytes to do this.
3) Any upgrade to SDHC should be a simple matter of new code. However some electrical characteristics is changed (tighter margins). The main matter is that SDHC works with blocks not bytes.

I don't remember how the sd/fat16 code for minimig is. But I wouldn't be suprised if a standard-SD 4 GB works out of the box.
