OS4.0 and Radeon video cards...

Hi to all,

I have just installed OS4.0 (YEAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!).
I have seen in the install procedure that Radeon cards are listed!!! But there is nothing on the OS internet page!!!
Does OS4.0 use Radeon cards? Any references somewhere?
Before buying one I would like to be sure I can use it in both OS3.9 and OS4.0...

There's a compatibility list here, although I think that it's somewhat dated. If you want 3D support as well, don't go above a Radeon 9250. I have a Radeon 9000 pro in my A1, and it works well.

Seeing that you're talking about OS 3.9, I assume that you have a PowerPC A1200/A4000. Elbox recently released Radeon drivers for OS 3.x. Here is their press release.

Lovely!!! Really thanx!!!
And I have an A1200 with Blizzard 603+!
It's a pity that the max GPU usable for Warp3D is a 9250... but I think this GPU is anyway quite beyond the possibility of a PPC@240 MHz! :-(
Now I have to find a nice Sapphire 9250 PCI 128 Mb!!! ;-)

Make sure your PCI bus supports the correct voltages... most Amiga PCI solutions are 5V only I think, and most modern PCI cards are 3.3V....

keep in mind, that only the new mediator tx and an old sx model support the radeon line!

ARGH!!! I have an old PCI 1200 version (first versione, 4 PCI... no LT)... no chances, right? ((

I think i have the same mediator as yours, so the answer is: no chance.
Maybe i will buy a tx one in the near future, but dont't decide it yet. (too high price, natami, maybe a few month and morphos will come out to mac mini etc.)
