(New) Bug in CGX4
« on: May 13, 2008, 10:54:17 PM »
Not sure if this has been previously reported, but heads up all the same. I think I've come across a bug in the latest/rc6 release of CGX4 (the one that adds semi-official MorphOS PowerUp support): all interlaced RTG modes are broken. Most won't even display and the few that do are completely corrupted.

This is with CVision3D 4.4 in ZorroIII. CVision3D 4.5, included with MorphOS PowerUp, is also affected. Under 68K, I dropped back to version 4.3 and all is fine; I haven't tested the old 68K driver under MorphOS.

My cybppc.device is 44.67. No GRex. Don't know if any other RTG boards are affected.

Is anyone still maintaining CGX so I can report this properly? (or is it already known?) I couldn't find any current contact info in the documentation.

Someone has ever tested interlace modes on RTG? I thought gfx-cards are meant to get away from interlaced modes without looking back :P

Yes, but you need a good gfx-card by Amiga standards to achieve that. Meaning CVPPC/Voodoo3 level.

They're useful for very-high resolution screens on sub-par monitors. Or even plain 1024x768 in some cases, like using a Commodore multiscan monitor for both RTG and native output.
