A3000 missing RP802-RP804 and questions
« on: May 04, 2008, 08:45:52 AM »
I have 2 boards one is a rev 9 and doesn't have the above mentioned things (i don't know what they are), but the rev 7.3 board does?
What are they? Are they important? should i take the ones out of the rev 7.3 and put in the rev 9?

Also i am in the process of cleaning both of them. I have removed the batteries clean with rubbing alchol but both of them have some sort of whiteish gunk around some resistors or pin legs. What is this stuff?

Does anyone have a manual for the A3000D or know where i can get one please?
Thank you for your time

RP802-804 are resistor packs working as passive termination for the integrated SCSI bus. They are required when only internal OR onlx external devices are connected and must be removed when both internal AND external devices are present.

You'd need the once common 220/330 (or 221/331) terminator packs - if you can't find any, just plug in a 25pin external terminator (active type preferred).  :-)

Zac,
Could you send me the manual as well? I am starting a project to build a system from an A3000D motherboard, and could surely use some docs! :)

Thanks...
