IDE FIX '97 CD32 Emulator problem
« on: May 02, 2008, 04:17:42 PM »
A bit of a strange one here, I hope someone has the answer, as I searched about the forum and Google and did not find anything. Here goes :

I have IDE FIX '97 installed and working on my A1200 and I have a CD32 collection of games, when I run the emulator the Amiga starts to run the CD and all is fine I get the menu, music etc but when I select a game it begins to load and then says "please insert volume cd32 in any drive" now its obvisouly in the drive since it got so far. I can't for the life of me figure out whats happening.

Its as though its being ejected?

It is being powered off the floppy drive power connector.

My setup is :

A1200, Viper 1230,8Mb fast, IDE FIX adaptor (1 x CDROM + 1 x CF card with WB3.0 on it) 60W A500 PSU

IDE FIX is not in my startup sequance as when I selected that in the setup my A1200 would lock up and no longer boot. It mounts and reads CDs fine in WorkBench though.

Any help or advice is appriciated :)

I haven't use this IDEFIX CD32 enulator, but I use the Squirrel SCSI CD32 version. This one works fine with most CD32 games.
When it ask your device choose your IDEFIX.
Squirrel Disk

Tried that and it said "Can't find cd0:"

Then I remembed the DOS name for the drive when I set it up was CD2. So I tried :

assign cd32: cd2:

and the shell says "Can't cancel cd32"

The Squirrel disc has a setup program, I thought the emulator on that disc was seperate or does it install, its just I don't really want to install something I will probley break

Any other ideas?
Have I set IDE Fix wrong?

vThanks for the help :D
