Questions about onboard and addon devices.
« on: August 12, 2003, 06:13:48 AM »
Hey everyone, I have a few questions here for all of you. I am using an A3000D with cyberstorm MK III (no INT mod done) in a Mirage tower with a mediator. Voodoo 3, 10/100 PCI ethernet, SB 4.1 digital sound card, and a Catweasel ZII card.

The question is this gives me a ton of devices that show of for hard drives ect like the one from the MK III, the onboard scsi, and the one from the catweasel. I am using the IDE from the catweasel for a 4GB drive and a IDE CD-ROM with no problems, and a small scsi drive on the onboard scsi for just WB3.9 and the MK III is not used at all. The question is this: Wil having all the controller devices in the system cause any conflicts? In any case can I disable the ones not being used so they dont show up at all?

There are no conflicts. The drivers are in the firmware ROMs and memory is only used for drives that are actually there.

Perhaps you could speed up the boot process by disabling all units in the MKIII firmware menu (hold down Esc after reset).
