Amiga 1200 Accelerator Question
« on: April 10, 2008, 10:06:26 PM »
Hello.

I want to find out some info. on the A1200 connector. I bought an Amiga 1200 Magic Pack back in 1997-8(escom).

The included book gives me the pin outs, but I would like to find out exactly what pins are neccessary for an accelerator to operate.

Also does anyone have a part number for the female 150 pin connector.

Thanks for your time.
 :-)
edit
I will look at the 68030 docs too.

It will be hard to find a connector laying around in some shop.

However Jens Schoenfeld of Individual Computers made a run of new connectors. (we know why and for whom   )

I bet you could get a sample or two from him for a reasonable price.

New connectors

For more information about the connector I recommend a google search for Commodore Amiga RKM Hardware manuals and schematics.

regards

@ Bandis
Thanks.
I have found a site that has RKM online.

I pretty much solved my problem.
I found a 68030 manual and a schematic of an A1200.

Now I need to find that socket.

Someone's building his own accelerator? ;-)
Get a SAM, while you can! The new AMIGA is here!

AFAIK, only Jens have the connectors matrix, now.

Try buy one from him, or butch a really dead A1200 accelerator/memory expansion.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

I am sure going to try and build an accelerator.  I hope I can make it as close to a single chip solution as possible, except the dimm.  I feel that more logic that I can get into an FPGA the better.  And then maybe it will reduce the number of external support chips.
Peace.

@Trekiej

Download this A1200 functional spec from my website, http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/Downloads/A1200FuncSpec.txt
some of the information in there will help you a lot.
