I have 3.1,3.5 and 3.9.  I HATE the reset on cold boot that happens with OS 3.5 and 3.9, i can get multiview to show jpegs band gifs in 3.1, and the 3.5/3.9 icon scheme is nice but only if you have a graphics card otherwise its too slow.

You can get rid of the reset on cold boot by having the rom updates embedded on your rom.

What is so horrible in a single soft reset? (Which only happens the first time you switch on the Amiga, btw) The 5 seconds delay?...

Currently running OS 3.5. What are the improvement in 3.9 vs. 3.5? I am trying to determine if it is worthwhile upgrading. Thanks

What about OS 4.0 vs 3.9, aside from the benefits of utilising the RISC PPC? Is there that much more from 3.9 to 4.0? Im building an A1200 and was considering 060 vs PPC options.

Hi,

I upgraded to OS 3.9 in order to support Amiga Inc. at the
startup of their new company, so that they would continue
support of the Amiga computer. At that time they were an
upstart company that needed all the help that they could get.

So just to let you know by buying OS 3.9 you are showing
continued support of the Amiga to Amiga Inc.

OS 3.9 had nice icons, an avi player, shows various
picture formats, supports large harddisk support, supports
ppc cards, just to mention a few things.
