I don't think Lightwas was ever released for free.  The design documentation of the Amiga Video Toaster Software (except Lightwave) & HARDWARE was released into the public domain by NewTek, though.
Music I've made using Amigas and other retro-instruments: http://theovoids.bandcamp.com

You're right about AmigaLW, its not freeware yet. You're best bet is EBAY then, if someone is selling their standalone LW (rare finds) unless you already have the card and can buy the regular version. At least you still have a choice of Imagine (version 4 came free on Aminet Set 3) or Real3D which is now freeware. Of course, the other 3D abandoned programs show up from time to time. At least Aladdin3D is still being supported.

The last Amiga version was 5.0.  I've got it on CD in the box with its 2 huge overwhelming User Guide & Reference Manuals.

Mauro73, and Rabbi: IIRC, the last version of Lightwave was 5.2, but it was not too stable.....

Mauro73, if you're still looking for music software, check Aminet, and with some Googling, you should be able to find OctaMed SoundStudio.... was given away on an Aminet set some time ago.....

2) ImageFX (last version)

A freeware version of ImageFX (called Lite) can be found here. It's not the latest version, but still a recent one.

For anyone interested in LightWave 3D, there's a boxed original manual for versions 3.1-3.5 on offer HERE.
