Anyone installed a Buddha Flash PHOENIX ed. Z2 controller on an A3000/4000 ?

Hey... looking closer into this problem.. This is what's causing my mediator ZIV to crash when I use any sound or network cards..

Without the buddha in it works fine...

I also found that there is a trouble with the buddha and certain ATAPI DVD drives... which will cause a system lock if you try and access them...

I have a Buddha Gold here too, that worked fine in my A4000..
I can't test the Phoenix edition though because my A4000 motherboard has died a terrible death

If someone wants to donate a motherboard though then I will be more than happy to test it all out

Update: I can get the 2.5" HDD recognised by the card now, but it was a bit fiddly... the CompactFlash cards still don't work, no matter what.

I think Buddha's ROM has several bugs that cause these problems... I also noticed a very funny bug:

when connecting a 2.5" HDD onto the first port and a 3.5" HDD + CF (master/slave) onto the secondary port, the kickstart 3.1 (40.63) will mistakenly think it is running on an A600 and display a CC0 carddisk.device in the boot menu. :-) I am using the card on an A2000...

Shame about CF though. I wonder if Jens reads amiga.org. :-)

Have you ever wondered that you might be running an A600 kickstart??? Cause I'm sure carddisk.device is NOT included in the A500/2000 rom.

The very same 3.1 chip is used for A500/A500+/A600/A2000, same version, same revision (40.63). The carddisk.device is simply inactive on machines other than the A600, but for some reason a bug in Buddha's ROM appears to cause kickstart to think it's running on an A600.

Anyone help with this card?  I bought it to add a fast cdrom to my A2000, but when I plug in the card and attach it to the cdrom (48x Lite-on) the cd light blinks and no boot.  I set the atapi cdrom to master and it's on the 3.5" second IDE channel of the Buddha Flash.  Any ideas?  btw I'm running a GVPCombo030/40MHz card with a 1Gb scsi drive and nothing else atm under a clean install of 3.1.

Yeah, it seems that with that combination of card the buddha ROM and the SCSI ROM on the GVP card conflict somewhere along the line...

You'll either have to disable the SCSI on the GVP card or (if possible) disable the bootrom on the buddha... (ask on http://www.ami.ga if there doesn't seem to be a way of doing it)

I personally just use the buddha for my bootdrive and CD Drive (Although the buddha doesn't handle atapi dvd drives very well), not too worried about boot or access speed on my A2000 personally though

I am about to fit one of these (Buddha Flash PHOENIX) in a 4000 desktop. can anyone post a picture of the correct direction for the board? should the chips on the Buddha face up or down in a 4000D?
