problems installing amiga os 4.0 with 4xEIDE'99 interface

My dear amiga friends,

I am having problems installing amiga 0s 4.0, when i boot from the installation floppy, it can't find my cd rom.

My configuration:

Amiga 1200 in mirrage tower case
blizzard ppc 603e
Mediator sx
4xEIDE'99 interface
voodoo3
terratec 512
realtek nic

At this moment, i have a 3,5 ide cable connected to the primary 3,5 inch port, this connects to my cd rom player and hd (hd = master, cd=slave), but this doesn't work , amiga keeps asking for the amiga os 4.0 CD . In the amiga os 4 installation guide it says that i am supposed to use the internal port.

Should i therefore use the 2,5 ide port (this is not buffered, so how could i then add an harddisk ?)
Did i misplace the jumpers ? I tried to boot with only the cd rom connected to the 3, 5 inc primairy port to see it it would at least start the installation from cd, alas...

Can someone please help me out ? I've been looking forward to os 4 so long, i realy would love to have it running !

have you tried just putting the hd on the primary port (master)& your cd drive on the secondary port also master.

as with the fastata it doesnt like the hd & cd on the same cable,

with fastata, ata is available without the need for a software driver, but the 4xeide adapter needs to have the driver activated before the 2 buffered 3,5 inch IDE ports are available, that's why they don't show in the Amiga BIOS. This is my problem excately: if i boot from Amiga os4 installation disk, the 4xeide drivers are not loaded, this means that it functions as a normal 2,5 inch ide port. So without the driver, the adapter behaves as if it is not there and only the 2,5 ide port is available.

The onboard 2,5 inch ide is unbufferd, i do have a converter cable (2,5>3,5 inch IDE) but due to it's unbufferd i can only connect the cd rom or hd. I need both to install 04 during the installation.

Is it possible to configure the installation disk, so that the 4xEIDE drivers are available on boot from installation disk ?

If so, i could then try to copy the installation disk to the rad drive, configure it and bootup from there.

Does anyone have amiga os 4.0 installed with the 4xEIDE adapter installed ?

Pretty frustrating, as my  amiga is just standing there for days now with the amiga os 4.0 box on top of it.. !

it is exactly the same with the fast ata, it only see`s the hd on the primary cable, no driver`s installed.

the os4 floppy loads the neccessary drivers to see the cd drive on the secondary cable (master)so that you can install os4 from the cd.
you have to read the instructions very carefully ?
as i took me 5 goes to install os4.
