The Mediator board use up to six Mach chips, coded by Elbox, so you need the Multimedia CD (from the guy who sell you the board) and the chips from Elbox.

Notice there is not a way to duplicate a Mach chip (or any other programmable PGA chip) if the protection bit/fuse is set/open. Buy the replacement chips from Elbox directly!

BTW: test the pass-trough card before start messing with the chips. The most common source of Mediator failures is just that little piece of crap.

I had a very hard time fixing one myself!

 __________

How to test? simply put the pass-trough between the 1200 motherboard and the accelerator. The Amiga must be running like always.

If the accelerator don't appear or you see the "hardware failure" screen, the passtrough is doomed.
Goodbye people.

hi there the pass thrugh works great with my bbp and bivision connected.

before i had a beefed pc supply pluged into the motherboard power connector and allways had problems since i used the mediator power connectors i have had no problems other than the board not working.

the board has the mach chips installed in it and i also have the multi media cd.

i was thinking the design is so simple it could only really be a dead chip

Are you sure your Mediator is busted?

Did you read the Elbox guide to install it?

What boards do you have in your Mediator?

You have installed the Picaso96 program with your Voodoo and did you "create" the Voodoo driver from scratch, like the guide says?

Are you sure it's supposed to show up in Early Startup? Most Zorro busboards don't, I'm not sure about PCI.

No, it only shows up in early startup when it is faulty.

from what elbox told me it shuld pick in the early startup menu.
and it shuld come up with 2 seperate devices one with the elbox manufatcuring id label and the other being my blizzard
i have run the mmcd and followed instructions on the cd

i then asked elbox for help but they said sent it back and we will charge you 90 or so euros if it can be fixed.

i shuld be able to load the mediator.device but it fails to load into memory.

i have a voodo 3 3000 instaled in it and set the jumpers to run with a blizzard ppc card.

the voodo card works in another computer sweet as

i have cyber vision v5 or 4
and it wont pick up the voodoo.device like it shuld it works fine with my bivision

I don't know anything about your problem, but I had a problem with the mediator because the graphics card was not fully seated. IIRC you need the graphics card for the mediator to work.

I fixed my problem buy using washers to raise the mediator 1mm, then the graphics card was fully seated and it works brillantly  :-)
