I thought that the IDE-Fix 97 was just for the A1200?

IIRC the header which connects it to the motherboard is 44 pin, but there's no reason why you couldn't use it on the A4000's 40 pin IDE connector if you had the correct cable.

You'll probably find this inside the wrapping..

I've been using these cool gadgets that give 2 IDE leads from your mobo for ages. I have my hard drive as Unit 0, IDE Zip drive as Unit 2 and DVDrom as Unit 3.

With the Zip and DVDrom on the same lead, I can disconnect the IDE hard drive and boot from the SCSI hard drive sitting on my Oktagon SCSI card, and still have use of them if I want to 8-)

@ Retro 71

You are not a dodo :-D

However, IDEFix 97 works for both the A4000 and A1200. But I believe they later brought out EIDE99 for the A1200's
