serial cable
« on: July 21, 2003, 01:54:32 PM »
Im looking to play adf games on my a600, and i want to connect using a serial (null modem) cable. Ive seen conflicting things over the net about this. Some say that i can just use a standard null modem cable that connect pc's to pc's, while other sources say that the amiga has a differnent serial pin layout. Even then, ive seen 3 different pc to amiga pin layouts.

Can some one straighten me out here? I really would like to just buy a standard unmodified pc null modem cable. I this isnt possible, can anyone point me out to where i can buy a pc to amiga null modem cable???

Thanks

I walked into Rat Shack and bought a bone standard null modem adapter and it worked just fine.

TWIN on aminet is handy.

TWIN

There are 2 executables, one for the PC, one for the Amiga.

Enjoy!

Oh yeah, once you get the ADF on the Amiga hard drive you can use ADF2DISK which is also on Aminet to copy back to a blank Amiga floppy.

Oh yeah, make sure you only download legal ADFs :-)
