ATX PSU 2 Amiga 500 case tutorial now up
« on: November 26, 2007, 11:51:08 PM »
Ok the project is now complete and running. I have had the power supply active for a couple of hours and it didn't melt down or blow the A1200, so all is well.

Here is a couple of pictures to whet the appetite a bit.

They pop out between 18 - 21v and they are wired totally different and are not ATX.

To use a laptop external PSU you could use a PicoPSU and an external regulated +12v PSU. That way you could get +12v directly and +5v and ATX power from the PicoPSU (but it would probably be more expensive).

I used the PSU from external USB HDD to power CD32; it has +12V and +5V, 2A each.
It worked, BUT the TV screen had some noise on it coming from PSU. ATX is a better choice.
