After OS3.9 + BB1+BB2 install some progs won't load...

I've just installed OS3.9 plus the two boingbags from scratch wich is fine, but some of the prefs programs like Input, Locale, ScreenMode and some more will not load...? I've tried to run version on the executables but it just gives me failed return codes all the time... I found out that the exes had bad loadchunks or what it's called... So I tried to delete the old exes and replace them by new ones... But nothing happens... Is it an error on my HD?, is it the BB's fault? This last copy-replace procedure worked on some of the progs eg. editpad... But with these last progs I've tracked down it just does nothing... ? Can anyone help me out there?

I haven't had these problems, but some people have had problems with BB2. Maybe you could try just using BB1?

I think you should try to change your maxtransfer to this: 0x1fe00.

What will this effect Amiga1260? And were do I do that? -HDToolBox?

I had once the same problem. I had some patches running which prevented the setpatch command from installing all needed patches. (TurboPrint par example)

You have to use hdtoolbox. Start HDToolbox and click on advanced and go to the maxtransfer field and type then 0x1fe00. Save it and reboot it. Format your Workbench partion and install OS 3.9 and the boing bags.

If this doesn't help then go to devs directory and rename the following files:

AmigaOS ROM Update to AmigaOS_test

and

AmigaOS ROM Update.old to AmigaOS ROM Update

I've tried to use the BB1 ROM update which speeded my sysytem up abit :-) So that was a good trick...

But I'm still fighting with the strange filecopy error... I do not think it would help to change the max transfer rate on my HD amiga1260...

I've tried to copy the specific files to both RAM: and DF0: and the problem is the same; The files seem to "die" somehow in the copy procedure...

So my new theory is that it could be some bug or a wrong setting regarding my CD-ROM setup?

Have you checked the flat cable?
Have you tryed to copy some large lha files from HD>HD? and then check it.
If it is OK, i suggest you, to reinstall ALL the OS3.9 and BB1-2 again.

PS-have you created the Emergency Disk? (BEFORE installing OS3.9).
