hi l went mad and brought a 1.3 wb ami 2000 need help

just few need some help with a amiga 2000 l brought

l havent got it yet but from what l read l thinking its

omg wb 1.3 no hard drive . apprenty its still got the seal on

the case .

sounds like hasint been going in a few years.

whould it pay for me to check the battery for leakage

and what other things to do with the machine

l dont know whats come over me os4 is out soon for my ppc

blizzard and am buying a 1.3 wb 2000 just shoot me

l have brought a 2091 scsi hard drive controller whould this

have exta ram on board.

also what is the best way to upgrade the rom from 1.3

l have spare amiga 1200 3.0 roms but these whouldint work with the 2000

my future plans for the mighty 7mhz 2000 is to run my amiga

cnet bbs from it is there any graphics cards available for

the 2000

It is possible that it has either 512kB, 1MB or 2MB or RAM on board. You can determine this by looking at the card once you get it. 4 chips per 512kB. There's also a jumper next to the RAM that has the sizes printed next to each setting.

1) open case
2) determine version of motherboard, if German 4.x then solder a wire onto your 2.04/3.1 rom chip between pins 1 and 31. If American 4.x or better, no wire needed on the chip.
3) swap rom chips
4) close case

All of the Zorro II compatible cards will work.

You will need at least an 030 processor in order to be able to use a graphics card.

yes l will open the case once l get it .

as l need to add scsi card when l get that.
