HC+8 problem solved but a with a new one...
« on: September 29, 2007, 11:59:34 AM »
Hi,

I started some time ago a 3d about my problems with an HC+8 with OmniSCSI chip... I never solved them till today!
I put my hand on a standard GVP chip rev. 4.0...
I removed the OmniSCSI chip and... I saw two pins are missing! :-( Is this normal for these chips or I am right and simply the chip is broken?

Now the card sees all the peripherals but, when I ask HDToolBox to query the HD, the programs answer that the HD does not accept the command... I tried with different HD and anyway I remember my A3000 saw them.
Is this a problem of the GVP chip? Perhaps a rev. too old?
I also tried FaaastPrep but the program cannot sees the HD the same way! :-(

Some suggestions? Tests?

Ciao and thank you

P.S.
  a tried a 4 Gb and a 200 Mb HD;
P.P.S.
  pins broken. Looking the chip from the top reading the label: upper right and lower second from right (I hope you can understand this description... English is not my mother language)
