Might be a silly question, but are you sure you are pushing the adapter in all the way? The PCMCIA slot seems way too fragile to me and I tend to get worried that I'm bending pins when inserting a card! Just a thought....

Yep, card and adapter both inserted fully. It was hard, but I resisted the urge to whip the lube out.

@Amiduffer,

Your link and url to Amikit have nothing to do with an Amiga.

I think you meant to suggest AmigaKit, which sells items.

AmiKit has a different url and is just for Amiga emulation.

In fact, AmiKit is what I am using right now to run Aweb3.5
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Nope, can't see any little golden julian clarys lurking in dark crevasses either...

Most 32 bit cards have a gold 'finish' on the connector end - they won't work.

Well, if CFD and FAT95 are properly installed, then your CF card should show up, just like when you put a floppy in the drive.

However, running WB from disks is such a pain. You've got to cram them on the disks in such a way that they load up with the regular WB files. You might have to modify your Startup-sequence.

Amiga 3000D & 4000D in storage sadly.

What make is your CF card? If it's LEXAR, they don't seem to work with an Amiga. I had one once; Workbench and DirOpus couldn't see it and PrepDisk informed me that it was write-protected. :-?

The CF cards I use are Kingston and SanDisk and they work straight out of the box.

I've tried Sandisk, Verbatim and Kingston cards of various ages and sizes, nothing.

The adapter is almost certainly a 16-bit job, no gold strip and it's from an ancient Iomega Click disk package, worked fine with that last time I used it.

I might just buy the Amigakit package to rule out the chance that the adapter is for some reason incompatible.
