South Yorkshire user group
« on: September 30, 2007, 07:26:54 PM »
I know that there are several amiga users in South Yorkshire, but the nearest user group as far as I'm aware is in Skittyhorpe.

I was just wondering if anyone else in South Yorkshire would be interesting in starting a user group.

Steve

I visited the lincs amiga group a couple of months ago, nice bunch of people. I would not have thought that is too far from yorkshire.
I came all the way from liverpool.

I will probably go to the next meeting if possible, never got to stay too long last time.

I'm also a member of the Lincs amiga group, the Skittyhorpe amiga group (SCAG) finished last year, so I think LAG is your local  :-)

I'm not sure where Lincs is actually *gets atlas out*
But it is a bit tricky for me to get to anywhere outside South Yorkshire as my bus pass isn't valid anywhere else.

I would be interested in visiting other user groups sometime in the future.

We have a member of LAG who travels down from Manchester by train. We meet at Lincoln which has a major train station so it's not a major hike, we can meet you there and give you a lift to and from the venue, provided we know you are turning up in advance.

I'm sure I could get to Lincoln on the train.

Are their many people that go to these meeting? (It's just that I tend to disappear if I end up in a room full of people that I don't know.)

Generally our meetings are relatively small (4-8 people) and we get everyone involved, you won't be left out if you pop along :). If you can manage to lug some kit along do so by all means (no need to worry about a monitor - if we know you're coming we can provide the right one). If not don't panic, you can have a play with other people's kit and see what sort of things you can do with Amiga and also some other platforms.

Next meeting is pencilled in for the first Saturday in December, we'll post the date on the website as soon as we have a solid date.
