Removing and replacing the eject button on floppy drive
« on: September 09, 2007, 03:49:12 PM »
So, I another thread I discussed my Amiga floppy drive issues.

Today I have decided to replace the drive with one from my 600, and it looks like this drive may actually fit the facia that came with the case many years ago!

So, I need to replace the original eject button with the smaller one for the facia, but I can't figure out how to do this. The button has a long bit of plastic that comes out of the back that looks like it hooks onto the drive, and then the rest of the button sticks to the metal that pokes out. Any ideas how to change this?

Edit - Sorry, figured it out now! Its been a long day getting re-aquinted with the inside of my Amiga!

We stock a brand new Amiga floppy drive with facia suitable for your A1200 tower:

http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=106

You can then put the A600 floppy back into the A600.

Thanks AmigaKit.

I had checked out your floppy drive before and was considering it.

At the moment I'm happy with the 600 drive, since the 600 is just an old machine I picked up cheap and never use. But I will keep you in mind if I feel the need to change it.

I didn't actually plan on changing the drive the other day. I was actually installing one of your network cards that I got of Ebay a while ago, only realised it was from amiga kit when I looked at the sticker on the envelope.

I havn't managed to get it working yet though... :(

All our network cards come with EasyNet networking software- if you email us your details and the EasyNet license number, we will re-register under you - the new owner.  We can then send you the latest updated EasyNet software

Thanks. I don't think it should be registered to someone else as it all seems brand new. Havn't noticed a license number yet though, I just have 2 disks and a photocopied sheet saying "NETPCM003" - Ebay Edition.

I'm assuming I bought this from your ebay shop? It was a couple of years ago now, I've only just got round to getting the A1200 setup again!

I should probably email you or something, but the error I am getting is in starting AmiTCP, the error flashes by too quickly to read though, but Easynet has an error saying AmiTCP must be started first.

I didn't spend alot of time with it the other day, got side tracked with the floppy drive. So I'll see if I get it working. I'll look into registering to get the latest version as well.
