WTB A3000 ZIP RAM MODULES

Hi! guys I know this is a long shot but has anyone any zip ram modules for sale? If you have some that are amiga 3000 compatible please PM me with quantity and price.

You might try this. I read about them on Usenet years ago when the idea was developed. I just ordered mine and I've heard they work well. I'll let you know when I get it.

This sounds clever.

Does anyone know if using something like this will reduce performance in any way? (Or any other technical issues.)

I have read that SIMMS are "page mode" and not "static column" like some of the ZIP's are, and that will cause a slight performance hit. That is unless you are already using "page mode" ZIP's.

The only other thing I can think of is if the board physically interferes with anything like a CPU card, ect.

People who've tried that sort of thing have written that it's very difficult to get all the pins lined up correctly when installing it on the motherboard.

If you act fast, there is a card on eBay right now that allows using SIMMs rather than ZIP! It's got a buy it now price of $65.00.
These things are great!

Act fast?

I took a look at their web site (www.amiga-digital.nl) and they seem to be making these things.

Have 16Mb ZIPs Memory A3000, never used!

Thanks guys I purchased one of those Simm folles and to be quite honest the pins are so thick that I,m frightened to use it I have managed to order 8 meg from a canadian shop that one of you pointed me in the direction of, they were quite reasonable so hopefully I,ll get them soon many thanks to all.
