The SCO example, does Amiga Inc own the IP?
« on: August 30, 2007, 06:43:20 PM »
Thinking of the latest SCO debacle, where Caldera bought the name SCO and the rights to market their product UNIX V Rev.4, but not the actual IP which we learned actually went to Novell.  SCO was all about sueing for IP infringement.

Now this sounds a little familiar, is it possible Amiga Inc is another SCO?  That is Amiga Inc owns the name and the right to produce the Amiga but not the actual IP and it's suits against companies like Hyperion are nothing but wind?
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

What we\'re witnessing is the sad, lonely crowing of that last, doomed cock.

The cases aren't related in any way IMO.

Sure?!!! Gateway still owns amiga patents and Amiga inc only have permission to use them.So now that Acer will buy gateway do not get suprised if it ends in a situation like SCO (or like access with Beos and magnussoft ZETA)

amiga patents

It isn't about patents (which many have expired or have prior art, and would not be enforcable anyway).
