Keyboard versions
« on: August 11, 2007, 08:23:38 PM »
My A1000 keyboard has no Amiga keys at all. In their place, I have two C= keys. Most other A1000s I've seen don't have these. There seem to be multiple variants of keyboards on other Amiga models as well, such as the infamous $1200 crappy A2000 keyboard. Is there some website that describes the various keyboard models? Can I sell my dual C= keyboard to Doomy for $6400? haha... I'm mostly just curious about the variations. I'm pretty skeptical that any of them are actually "L@@K!! RARE!!"

Some have a C= key and an Amiga key. Maybe the PO just added a 2nd C= key to be different?  The early A2000 keyboard is only worth more as it is harder to find. Some people will capitalize on this and try to make extra money.  I don't think it's worth $1,200!  I have one and I paid less than $20 for it.

Are your C= keys red?  Post a pic of it.  I have a pic of my rare 2000 keyboard!

The C= keys are not red and not the same. The left one is a solid black, the right one is a black outline... sort of like the "A" logo keys on the A1200.

I have a big pic of the whole computer, but I havent taken one of just the keyboard yet:

And I think that anybody who pays more than $20 for the "rare" keyboard like you have is an idiot. I might go as high as $35 haha. But $1200 for an inferior make keyboard? Please...

Interesting, those keys are usually red on all the A1000's I have ever seen.  Was the machine (or keyboard) from a EU model?  I know the EU A1000's have the Commodore logo in blue on the bottom left of the faceplate.

American as far as I know. Its in the original box and all. It'd be kinda cool if there were a description of all the keyboard variants. The Amiga Hardware Bible shows tons of motherboard variants, but not keyboards.
