Defender clones
« on: June 28, 2003, 08:03:41 PM »
I am trying to remember the name of a Defender Clone I used to love playing.  I have already found a PD one called Defender which is a perfect copy of the arcade original, but the one I am thinking of had 3D looking Asteroids that rotated and you could shoot them and they split into smaller one's (just like Asteroids), while at the same time the rest of the game being identical to Defender.

Can anyone help me here as I really want to play it again.

can't help you with that specific title but you should try out DataStorm. _THE_ greatest defender clone ever. :)

Yeah, i have played DataStorm.  Pretty good game but I really wanted to remember the name of the other one.  It's been bugging me for a week now as I have it in my collection somewhere but can't remember what it's called.

BTW, have you played StarRay?  That's another great shooter in the style of Defender.

I think that the game you describe was called Cybernetix.  Unfortunately, it's not compatible with my graphics card.  It's probably still on Aminet.

Datastorm was the best, although there was Defender for the amiga. If I remeber rightly there was also one called Llama.

Cheers Tenacious, Cybernetix was the one I was looking for.  And I just tested my adf copy and it runs fine through WinUAE which saves me having to find my copy to run on my Amiga's.  Thanks  :-)

BTW, I will be running Cybernetix as my websites competition game of the week on my sites forum.  So if anyone here is interested in competing come over to www.classicamiga.com and join the competition.
