« on: July 30, 2007, 01:11:27 AM »
Probably my question, its a lite stupid, but i need help.
Use WB 2.05 on a A600 emulated in WinUAE v1.42a, because my reals amigas 500 or 600 dosent work :(
And i don't know who to run demos, with the extension EXE.

I save the demos, in my DH1:Work, but i try the Run Command, and an Shell, but nothing, i have the same error, the command type its unknown...

Can any one give a tip???

YES!

boot with NO STARTUP-SEQUENCE, in the CLI, cd to the drawer where the demo is and type "NameOfTheExeFile".exe . No Execute (intended to run scripts), nor Run (if the file is executable, it runs without the command).Simple like this!
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

@1NOM155:

Create a new WinUAE config without any hard drive and floppy disk (so that you get the insert-disk animation).

Press F12 and go to the floppies section. Insert the EXE file into drive DF0 as if it was an ADF file. It will boot and run automatically.

If the file is bigger than 1.7 MB (Amiga HD floppy), get the latest version 1.4.3 of WinUAE, then go to the hard drives section instead, click on "add archive" and choose the exe file. Click on Reset if it is available (otherwise the new HDD will not be seen).

Bye,
Thomas

I believe WinUAE can 'boot' an executable Amiga (such as a single-file demo/intro) by 'inserting' the file as an ADF disk.

Kind regards,
James

;-) To change the current directory with an Amiga shell from, say, "System2.0" to "Work" simply type "CD Work:" and then press the return key.  Don't type the quote marks, of course.  Use the colon at the end of the volume or device name, but don't add a backslash, PC style.

The CD is unnecessary.

The CD is unnecessary. And how is this a hardware problem?

Changing the directory is not a hardware problem, it's part of one solution.  The gentleman RKauer had advised member 1NQM155: "...in the CLI, cd to the drawer where the demo is..." and 1NQM155 had replied that he "...don know how to changend drive."  Soooo, I told him how to do so.
