PC -> Ami Networking a little further on
« on: June 27, 2003, 05:59:31 PM »
iv now installed MiamiDx and it seems to be able to find itself  (unlike 3.2) but it still cant find the pc. Now in tcpDump i get

"arp who-has 192.168.0.1 tell 192.168.0.2 "
-----------------------^pc---------------- ^amiga

and is it normal after doing ctrl+c to get "MiamiTCPDump:  MiamiPCapLoop: read error from BPF"

i still cant ping one machine from the other. for more history about the problem its here http://snurl.com/LANproblem

TBH I had no end of trouble trying to get MiamiDx working with a similar setup, i.e. PCMCIA card in Hydra housing to Win98 (at the time), it didn't like initialising the hydrapcm.device, there were problems when trying to use cnet.device in AND out of the Hydra housing because of blah blah blah blah....

I then tried Genesis w/ OS3.9, set up all the same details and it just worked.
