Installing Cybervision PPC
« on: July 22, 2007, 04:58:02 PM »
I got a Cybervision PPC when I bought my MKIII but I have never used it since the seller said he had a few problems with it. I'm thinking of trying to get it working. I've currently got a CV64 installed.

If I reinstall CyberGraphX 4 latest version and tell it I've got a CybervisionPPC, I'm guessing I will end up with two monitor files in DEVS:Monitors, one for the CV64 and one for the CVPPC. Is that correct? Will anything conflict if video drivers are installed for both cards? Or can I just select a screenmode from either the CV64 or the CVPPC and it will use whichever graphics card I choose?

TIA

Well I've been running both a CV64 a CV64/3D in the same A4000. I have two drivers in Workbench:Devs/Monitors and a long list of screenmodes for each to choose from in Workbench:Prefs/Screenmode.

I can't see you having any problems, but I would suggest that you choose USE when you first select a mode for the CVPPC :-)

Oh... Apparently after installing CybergraphX v4 from CD, the CVPPC card will not be seen until the updates are installed:-

Well it did not work for me though to install the updates, but then again I am running WB3.0 (which should not matter) and there might be other problems.

It will be interesting to see if you get your card running!

@A4000_Mad
I am already using that version. Thanks for verifying that 2 monitors are ok.

@cv643d
I'm running 3.9. I'll back up my system partition just in case it borks and then try reinstalling the latest CGX update.

Will report back :-)

Yeah thats a great idea. I did it myself, but because the 8520 chips are fried no floppy works so everytime the system failed I had to mount the harddrive in WinUAE to restore the partition  :crazy:

Your cvisionppc and cv64 driver in devs/monitors should be living together happy next to each other :-D

But indeed be sure to have the newest cgx version&040/060 libs installed when you run OS3.9 speacially with BB2 or else cgx wil refuse to work at all.
