EasyNet File-Sharing
« on: July 18, 2007, 11:18:01 AM »
Hi everyone!

I'm sorry if this question is asked over a million times, but I couldn't find anything about this specific issue. So I'll fire away hoping someone knows the exact problem.

I have a A1200 with a Easynet Wireless PCMCIA Adapter; I've used it for sometime now and it worked perfectly... Until I had to reïnstall my PC running Windows XP.

Now EasyNet keeps bugging me for a password when trying to connect to the PC's harddrive. My PC doesn't have a password for file-sharing access (Administrator).

I'm pretty sure that I tried almost everything until the higher regions of frustration. I nearly smashed my PC-keyboard (I'm not gonna smash the Amiga you know :) )

So, if anyone has a solution I'd be glad to hear it.

Thanks alot.

Ensure that the Workgroup name are the same on the Amiga and PC.  Ensure the PC is correctly setup in Host Manager (with the correct IP address)

Goto Help menu and select Network Configuration Help and send us the output to diagnose the problem.

I'm no Windows wizard, but I'm guessing you have to activate the guest account.

You are trying to access folders that belong to the old users beofore the re-install. you will need to takeowenership of all the files on the harddrive

From the PC do the following: Start->Run type gpedit.msc and press OK. In the Group policy console select "Windows Settings"->"Security Settings"->"Local Policies"->"Security Options"->"Accounts:Limit local account use of blank passwords to console logon only". Right-click "properties" and change the value to "disabled". You can now access any shared folder from the network without password...

Thank you very much everyone for your advice.

I've tried every suggestion but, unfortunatly, to no end.

@Amigakit, when I select Configuration Help nothing happens.

Where can I find a log?

Thank you very much.
