What happens with the keyboard light? Does it come on? If it does, press the caps key repeatedly and count how many times the CAPS light goes on and off. If it does indefinately, you have a working 68K CPU. If it stops after ~10 times, you do not have a working 68k.

@ Keropi

Are you sure the card is sitting parallel to the mobo? What I mean is, you have the right spacers and the card is seated correctly?

I had that same symptom from using wrong spacers with the Cyberstorm PPC. When I upgraded from MKII 060 I didn't change the spacers and then when I installed the Cyberstorm PPC it didn't sit right (very difficult to detect, see my pics in the album).

I just installed my csppc on a 4000.... it powers on and the screen just stays black... I put a 030 card on, it works fine... also tried with pressed 060 ...
is the cs-ppc dead?  :boohoo:  :boohoo:

Keropi -- is the PPC card a Phase5 card or a DCE card? The newer DCE ones have had problems. I literally had FOUR of 'em blow on me -- three PPC, one Cyberstorm MKIII 060. Many other users reported similar problems with DCE-made PPC units.

I have the same problems with a blizzard PPC@240/040@25. No boot, only a black screen, no access to the floppy, nor boot from HD.The HD led is permanet light on and the power led is on but with less light that normally.i try it without memory (could be that the problem?).I try it with a "naked" a1200 and on a tower 1200 with HD, cdrom, pixel64 gfx card and nothing. It´s also dead my blizzardPPC?? it´s a phase5 card
DON\'T TAKE LIFE SO SERIOUSLY AFTER ALL NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE OF IT

tried a new os3.9 installation with the 030 card. installed also the libs from the p5 unofficial support
site.
removed the whole a4000 mobo to see better the mobo-csppc allignment. all work OK with the 030.
removed 030
insert ppc, look, it locks fine to the slot.
power on
nothing...
after ~10 capslock on/off the capslock stays OFF...
also tried WITHOUT csppc spacers, the same...
according to patrik that indicates a faulty 68k side? so it is dead?
should I return it to the seller?

Sounds like a bad 68k socket (or 68k CPU) to me. I'd return it to the seller if I were you.

If you can't, the next step is Amiga Centre in France. Since you don't really know if the PPC side is healthy, it would be kind of sad to figure out that the PPC side is not working after the 68k side becomes operational.

Well it inidcates the 68K aint working, for one reason or another. It could just be not seated well in the MB CPU slot. More than likely though it's the 060 in the SOCKET that's the problem. Reseating the 060 may fix it... at least temporarily.. Common problem..

You have no doubt bined the cppc by now or sorted it but I had the same issue on my A4000T 040 card was fine but soon as I put in the PPC 060 by DCE nothing no hardware boot up. I was told it was the ide drive it will not work with them. I removed the ide drive & one working amiga using scsi uw insetad.
