Yeah I am back with classic hardware. My new A1200 arrived from Omnicron (forum local) for a great price! It's a Rev 1D with A1200 internal battery clock + M1230XA 50mhz accelerator. The machine was fairly white (some slight yellowing of a few keys) and after giving the case a good scrubbing in warm water, it looks great! BTW, he packed it very very well.... double boxed, etc.
I pulled the 80mb hard drive and stuck it in my hackintosh osx box... dd if=/dev/disk2 of=amigahd.dd ... then I installed a 20GB drive in the hackintosh and wrote the HD image to the drive... dd if=amigahd.dd of=/dev/disk2...
Bang I booted from the 20GB drive, no problem. It has two 40mb partitions so I am hoping sometime this weekend to transfer over the SFS device and hdtool updates via serial and create an 18GB partition in addition to the small FFS boot partition. fingers crossed.
I tried to mount the drive using UAE but no luck... it would not boot from it or see it despite being visible in the hard drives dialog (ideas?).
Oh and I have a 64MB 72pin simm on the way, with a buddy looking for a 128

What am I gonna do with it? I dunno but I'm not gonna sell it! I ordered some Amiga programming books (books I sold years ago) for some entertaining reading. Who knows maybe I'll do some C programming on it.. or maybe I'll just write some stuff for AROS.
Interestingly enough, the 1200 had GCC and emacs installed... omni told me the original owner was the guy who wrote the BSD filesystem. Neat!
