Partition and format 20GB drive with SFS via Uae?
« on: May 06, 2007, 02:05:52 PM »
I've read the SFS tutorial and have been trying this all night.  I have a 20GB drive which I've removed all partitions from and erased the mbr with dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda bs=512 count=100 under knoppix.  I verfied that the entire partition table was gone...windows sees it as "unknown 18.1GB" which is a good thing.  I want to create a small AFFS partition, and use the remaining 17GB as SFS.

Starting winuae with -disableharddrivesafetycheck allows me to add the drive to win uae.

I boot from an install disk adf, and change the hdtoolbox scsi device to uaehf.device via the information dialog.

When I open hdtoolbox it scans but does not see the drive.

scsi.device doesn't see it either.

why?

thanks
