Amigakit still sells Workbench 3.1 disks. I suggest you start there. Support our Vendors.

Software Hut should still have them Available. www.softhut.com

I'll try and dig up some other sources for you, as well.

Or you can go for OS 3.5 og 3.9, Amigakit supplies them with a emergency boot disk now, so you dont need to have a working 3.1 installed first.

But then you need to connect a cdrom, and get more memory (did i mention that I try to get rid of a 4mb+rtc card for a1200? :) ), and then you'll find out you need a decent accelerator and graphics card,
and then you want to get networked, and that cheap amiga suddenly turns expencive, hehe.  but hey, thats what we all end up doing when we return to amiga...

Don't forget that 3.5 and 3.9 need 3.1 ROMs to work.

Well i have a  OS 3.5 with 3.9 os 3.1 roms in the post from ebay
i just hope that emergency boot disc is with it then maybe i will save on buying workbench 3.1.

It's all coming together slowly i have a blizzard on its way with a 32mb Memory i don't think i will worry to much about a graphics card atm.

I just want to get the desktop a1200 running a os and networked on my monitor and play some retro games while browsing on ibrowse
 :lol:
I wonder if my boss will give me a pay rise  :lol:

well unless you got the 3.9 cd from amikit it usualy does not come with the emergency disk.  lemme know if you need one.  As long as you own the cd I can make you a disk.
(one more reason to get it form amikit...)

@guru-666
Amigakit also ships harddrives with os3.9 preinstalled (well you have to buy the 3.9 cd at the same time ofcourse).

Costs people abit extra, but its a real "kickstart" :)
They dont have to strugle with a cdrom etc.
