My sincere condolences to his family.

Perhaps this sequence of emails could be forwarded to his family.

Fred is gone but definately won't be forgotten by Amiga users around the world.  Fred provided a valuable service to all of us by sending out high quality software at a time when many of our software libraries consisted of EA's original Amiga demo disks!

So long Fred...I know there will be Amigas in heaven.  Fred will insist on it!

With condolences to his family,

Bob

I came too late to enjoy the heyday of the Fred Fish disks, but I think it's safe to say they were a major contribution to the success of Aminet.

Thanks Mr. Fish! Thanks for your big contribution.

This is what I just posted to AW.NET

This is something this whole community can agree on, a huge loss  Does anyone have proper family information to send our condolences? It would be nice for us all to pitch in and and the family something.. Anything.. Flowers? Money to a charity in his name? Does anyone reading this have pertinent information to coordinate this?

If there was anyone we should show respect to, Fred Fish would be on the list. Anyone have info? :-(

Those Fish disks were a beloved nemesis of mine.  When I was young and dumb I greedily collected a huge pile of them (I'm thinking like 1990, '91 or thereabouts) and then it hit me one day - if I'd tucked away the $3 per disk (or whatever it was) I'd have had the money to get an A3000!  D'oh!  Still, I had a lot of fun.

Rest in peace, Fred.

This is Michelle Fish, Fred Fish's wife.  Someone from this site forwarded me the link.  I would like to thank all of you for the kind words about Fred and his work.

He strongly believed in the work he did over the years and appreciated the support of the Amiga community.

I will miss him more than I can believe, but it's wonderful to see that  he has not been forgotten by a group he worked so hard to help.

If you are interested to see what he had been doing over the past few years, you can go to our website at  http://www.diveadx.com.  Fred's dream was to cruise the oceans and I thank God, that we made that dream come true for him.

please forgive me as I have not had time to update the site announcing his death.

Thank you,
Michelle Fish

@Michelle

Welcome to Amiga.org..

Your husband was a celebrity around these parts, he helped provide the very first software for the platform. We will always be grateful.
