Hi All,

There apperars to be a brand new version of Poseidon released today, 3.6.

I thought I'd let Chris make the announcement in the News section about it.

I downloaded the new version, 3.6 through the Trident GUI.  I installed it over my previous version, 3.4, skipping version 3.5.

When I have a generic USB Card Reader attached to my Subway on the clock header port of my A1200, my system freezes, although the pointer doesn't freeze right away.

Does anyone else experience this problem, too?  My USB flash disk seems to mount OK.  I know that one of the items upgraded in this version is the massstorage.class.  Help!

BTW, I've got a MasterPOWER 325 watt 650VA AVR Battery Backup that all my computer devices are plugged into.  It has a USB plug & came with PowerCheck Power Management Software for the PC.  Is there any way with the HID.class to use it with the A1200?

I neglected to mentioned that in my generic (driverless) USB card reader has both a 2 GB CF card & a 1GB SD card.

Has anyone else downloaded the new version 3.6 of Poseidon?

Yeah, updated it this afternoon.
Getting the same thing with MSD as you, as soon as I plug in a USB flash disk it either hangs the system or blocks mouse input.
Replacing the MSD class with the one from 3.4/3.5 seems to be OK.
I guess I'd better RTFM about reporting a bug to Chris

This has been the only report so far of a system freeze with new Poseidon. You could try to use the old mass storage class from V3.4 to see if it really is due to the new massstorage.class, or if the problem is somewhere else.
Does this freeze also happen with no cards inserted into the cardreader?

About the AVR Battery Backup, I'd be very interested to see a PsdDevlister output of it and, a HID debug (there's a menu item for it), if it really uses the HID.class.

Argh :(

Do you get any enforcer hits by chance before it freezes? Also a Subway, I presume?

Gimme a few mins and I'll see what I can find out.  It was with the Highway on my A4000, I'll try the Subway on the A1200 too if you think it'll help

Thanks for the update Chris, much appreciated... now to read more about these rocket launchers  :hammer:

With no cards inserted into it, it does NOT freeze - only when there is a card inserted into it.  Removing the card doesn't unfreeze the system.  What happens is that the cursor can move around, but nothing can be clicked onto to work.

I've also been meaning to ask you about another possible problem with Poseidon, if you could check into:

I've got the pop-ups to show at all times.
They cause audio to play when they pop up.
I've noticed that when I want to play MP3s with my registered version of "TheMpegEncGUI" and click on the MPEGA tab to use it to play MP3s, many times I get this error: Can't open Audio ! [err=-36002]
When I remove all USB devices from my Subway & go into "TheMpegEncGUI", I get this error a whole lot less.
Does Poseidon relinquish control to the audio device that MPEGA needs to play its output into?  BTW, I have "Don't use AHI" chosen.

I'll try to get you the info re. the Powr Supply/Battery Back-up/AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation) later today.

I just connected a tiny chinese usb-stic-mmc reader on my subway on 4000, it does not freeze when inserting there an mmc... maybe this is an A1200 specific issue?
