I think I have A1200 SYS problems
« on: March 19, 2007, 08:04:44 PM »
1) The clock doesn't save when switching off/restarting, it keeps going back to 11/5/92 00:30, is it supposed to?..

2) I don't have a start-up/boot screen, is this cos it boots using the installed HD?

1. Do you have an accelerator/memory expansion with a battery backed up clock?

2. Yes it is normal not to see the boot screen if you boot directly to HDD.

I remember using the "setclock load" and "setclock save" commands on my A500, perhaps this works the same on A600 ?

For some reason, the stock A1200 did not ship with a battery backed-up clock circuit.  It will lose the time each cold-boot.  This is normal behavior if you don't have a clockport expansion or accelerator card attached.
