My 1084s has just died on me after 12 years.

Any model considered but must have all necessary cables. England only please!

Mine died a few months ago, too.

Does it power on?  Do you get any picture at all?  Tried the composite input?

Somone told me to check the fuse; they tend to pop when they get too old.  I haven't had the chance to check it out on my own monitor yet, but I definitely will some day.
Code 6502 asm or... DIE!!

A nice smell of burning made it's way across the room when I switched it on earlier this morning. Power light flashed on and then just as quickly flashed off again. I tried the on/off switch several times to no avail.

Am guessing it's more than the internal fuse this time ... will have to investigate further later today when I have more time to devote to it.

*UPDATE* diagnosis confimed ... it's departed this world with a melted circuitboard  :boohoo::boohoo::boohoo::boohoo:

If you are near London you can have mine. It has an intermittent fault where the red colour does not show. It is probably a very simple thing to fix and it has been like that for the last three years. I haven't opened it to see.
Anyway you can have it free if you are willing to collect. It is a 1438S. I can confirm that apart from the intermittent missing red, it works fine. It synchs correctly and there are no missing components. It is yellowed, though.
If you want it, let me know.

I'm fairly close to London (within 60 miles)  :-)

I've got a friend of mine mooching through his loft on a monitor hunt - he's 75% sure he's got a spare 8833II up there.

Failing that, does the 1438S come with all cables to connect to the A1200? @ X-ray

It comes with cables to connect directly to an A4000T, but with a standard £2 kettle lead, you can connect it to the A1200. Or you could just lop off the current connector and put a plug on it. But I would just use a kettle lead.

Not sure a repair shop will be able to do anything with a melted circuitboard but it's always worth finding out.

Get your tissues out ... the 1084s has officially been certified as deceased    A good 75% of the electronics were fried beyond repair and thus has been given a good send off at the local tidy tip.

But wail ye not! A CM11342 14" colour monitor has just come into my posession and once more the Amiga Amigo is happy again :-D  :-D  :-D

Hi,
nearly all parts are avaible at Philips parts dealers stores, but you have to help them because it's an old monitor  :-).
