Taking a chance here before considering spanking new hardware.

Any used ones in circulation yet?

You a linux fan?  I presume anyone here who has already purchased Efika is waiting for MorphOS. So I'm suprised if used boards will be up for sale so quick, well maybe a small chance if a buyer purchased hoping it might one day run OS4.

Well, I love Linux and I love PowerPC, so it's the perfect combo for me :)

@Amigakit: Thanks, but I'm way ahead of you :)  The mouse pointer is already hovering the "Add to cart" button.  I have one offer for an used Efika I need to consider first - if I decide to turn it down, you're next ;)

But since you have some experience with this card:  The mounting holes on the Efika are looking kinda special, do they fit in a, say, Mini-ITX cabinet?

@skurk,

From what I've read the Efika isnt compatible with any mini ITX cases. Most folks seem to be making there own.

I have an Efika and bought a micro ATX case for it.  The simple fact is, the Efika with the graphics card installed has all of the ports aligned to the pop-out backplane, but the screw holes on the Efika mobo do not line up with mounting holes inside the case.  What you have to do is simply mount the Efika onto a hard surface which you can then drill holes into so that it can be mounted securely in the case and then manufacture your own backplane to replace the one that came with the case.

I haven't manufactured them yet so I can't show a photograph, but I've bought a firm, thin plastic sheet and a dremel in order to cut the necessary holes (something like this:  http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=94788-353-7700&lpage=none ).

Compared to putting my A1200 in my Elbox Tower, this looks easy.  :-D

...or stuff it in a project box from your local electronics store (Fry's, Radio Shack, etc). TV dinner tray... Candy tin... Maybe we should hold an Efika case contest or something.

A4000D, A3640 OC-36.3MHz, custom tower, Mediator A4000D. Diamond Banshee 16M, Indivision AGA 4000, GVP HC+8.

Mac Mini 1.5GHz, that might run MorphOS someday, when the fools who own it come to the realization that 30 minutes just isn\'t enough time to play with it enough to decide whether or not you like it enough to cough up $200.

 - Someone please design SOME kind of DIY accelerator for the A4000. :D -
