User Sigs????
« on: January 06, 2007, 05:20:04 PM »
I'm just wondering what the score is on these things? I had a nice little Fish sig and was asked to remove it
(image hosted on images site). But now of recent I have seen alot of users using gfx sig's with no mention off removing them. So does this mean we are allowed to use sigs?

Personally, large image sigs annoy me, but imageblock helps.

Aye, they annoy me too, especially great huge oversized ones (costabunny!)

A swift right-click and a "Block images from ...." in Firefox is all that's required!

Yeah. I hate those forum sites where every punk kid has a three inch high graphic of naruto in their sig. Too bad those sites need that kind of eye candy to get users to consider their forums as cool enough.

it sometimes annoying when one brags about his config in sig, because when you want to search for help with certain Amiga peripheral you'll get a lot of results just because its in sig..
for eg. I'd like to find more about 'PS2 keyboard adapter' and result would be all your posts.. :roll:
Better sorry than worry.

@wayne:

Would it at all be possible to implement a 'do not show signatures' thing in one's profile? Or is xoops too rigid for that?

Now that is just plain rubbish. I just tested it with my own sig, searching for 'XP2000+', and I found only 6 results, which hardly corresponds with my post count.
