Labyrinth of time. Help needed.
« on: January 02, 2007, 12:54:20 PM »
  Hello.
As you probably know, this game was released for free on Aminet. Although i have a slow connection, i downloaded it and now i see that it doesn't run properly for me:
When i double-click its icon the game starts, but the graphics are all corrupted. I can't see a thing! I can hear the mousic, i can see that the screen changes when i click the left mouse button. Only the graphics are messed up..
  Any ideas?

Sounds like a ECS<>AGA bug..  Tried running the game with the "old chipset" display settings?
Code 6502 asm or... DIE!!

I have the original CD-ROM and never had any issues playing it on my A3000 or A1200.  I believe the graphics are in the older HAM8(?) mode.  I haven't downloaded the contents from Aminet, but it wouldn't suprise me if something got corrupt during the upload / download.

I tried it and i still get corrupted graphics.
I have found a temporal solution to this: I copy the whole cd in my HD, i boot with no startup-sequence and then i execute the (slightly altered) startup-sequence of the game which is now located in a directory of my HD. Graphics are dispalyed ok now.

But what if i want to play the game directly from the CD? Is there a way to make a CD bootable? I suspect the solution is to create a RAD disk and then install a special startup-sequence which just initiates the CD driver and then execute the s-s of the game. But perhaps there is another, more simple way..

The type of gfx corruption that i'm experiencing, looks exactly like the OCS<->AGA type. But while reading about this game, i just realized that it's a CD32 release. So, it shouldn't cause me this kind of problem. Strange..
