From the install doc:

"AROS is alpha quality software. This means that it is currently mostly fun to play with and cool to develop for. If you came here because you thought AROS was a finished, complete and fully usable operating system, you will most likely be disappointed. AROS isn't there yet, but we're slowly moving in the right direction."

I don't understand why he's acting all surprised.  Maybe the above is a clear evidence that he probably is an computer-illiterate troll.

AROS is whatever YOU make of it.

I'm not a developer or programmer and I am not expecting AROS to be a complete OS with all needed apps ready to go.

instead, I use it for fun ideas.

I have been able to copy the lite version onto a flash drive which means I can show it to anyone who happens to have a computer with a USB port. If you think THAT accomplishment is Nothing, you really have NO imagination!

I play around with LunaPaint - as an artist I happen to find that fun. sorry if you don't.

there's plenty of issues with AROS that annoy me, but I know it's not a finished OS, it's for fun and learning and trying out things. For that it great. and as people keep adding more features and solve more problems, it gets better.

Personally, I LOVE having an OS on a Flash drive. But that's my little happiness! :-D

Hi,

I had no problems whatsoever installing AROS.

I burnt the AROS CD and installed it on a 6 year old Dell Dimension 4100.

The computer is equipped with a USB mouse with a PS 2 adapter. No issues there.

I was able to browse thru the OS, open samples, run them. Nothing crashed. Nice experience. No problems.

For an individual like me, who knows NOTHING about AROS and very little about Amiga OS, it was easy and straightforward.

I suppose there are compatibility issues with some hardware and that's to be expected.

Now at times like this when the trolling begins to upset people, I often think its worth regressing to a lower mental state to try to understand where the troll is coming from. Hang on....

Duh !!! I'm ready :-o
Now maybe we can do a comparison on the benefits and usefulness of AROS versus Chrizz ?

Here are a few starters:

1. People here like AROS. Chrizz ??
2. AROS will one day be useful. Chrizz ??
3. AROS is open sourced and freely available. Chrizz is too scared to even put his country on his sig.

OK. I've got that off my chest. Its better to let these things out when they occur, else massive internal damage may ensue.
Time to elevate mental processes to normal level

Chrizz: Thanks for waking people up, but please refrain from upsetting people with your constant childish remarks.

Right, the rest of you can have a :pint: with me, but I guess the law would prevent me offering one to Chrizz

I installed AROS on an old Pentium II laptop.

This laptop struggled with Windows 2000 (as you might expect) but is extremely responsive with AROS.  Not to mention booting in a fraction of the time.

A modern internet browser would be great.  I would likely use it as my main OS then.

Keep up the good work AROS devs!
