Helloooo,

 What is the maximum length an IDE ribbon cable can be?
I have an A1200 with HD & CD in a desktop case connected by a loooong ribbon but keep getting gurus etc since I re-hashed the cable...

when I used an A1200+fastata, I had a 75cm 80pin IDE cable, and it worked without any errors.

The ATA (ie "IDE") spec stipulates 18". Anything over that is non-spec, and susceptible to interference, noise, and data errors.
