feelin installation problem...
« on: November 08, 2006, 08:49:52 AM »
Hi to all! I'd like some help with a problem I encountered when trying to install feelin: I downloaded feelin060207_68k.lha from aminet, extracted it, and ran setup. There's some disk activity for about 4 seconds, and then an empty window and a requestor pops up ('suspend' or 'reboot'). What's wrong? Does anyone had the same problem? Plz help! Also, one other thing: which programs are the best for customizing workbench and making it look hm... more beautiful?

I got the exact same problem. I sent the author a screenshot and snoopdos.log but he never replied. That was about 9 months ago. I think maybe the author got busy or stopped development for some reason. The earlier version of Feelin (050517) doesn't have this problem.

The best programs for customizing Workbench are:
VisualPrefs - for nice buttons, gadgets, GUI layout
FullPalette (or LoadCMAP) - lock WB palette
Birdie - Window patterns
Newicons - icon palette mapping, remove stupid border
MagicMenu - nice menus
FF - replace ugly Topaz
Titleshadow - nice shadows in window titles
ModePro - set mode, palette, borderblank, fonts of other screens

...and if you're making your own icons, gadgets or backgrounds:
Iconian
PPaint

All are found in Aminet except FF which came on WB1.3 Workbench disk.
(Note: most of other above programs require at least WB 3.0)

Oh really. I downloaded it too, but, I couldn't find any installer. :-?

When I emailed him, he replied pretty quickly, saying that those are old versions and the new one is coming soon.
Amiga 3000D UP and running! Hear that clicking. 8)
