Zorro IV busboard and audio cables in Power Tower?
« on: November 04, 2006, 01:11:50 AM »
I've found what I believe to be a Zorro IV busboard in my Power Tower. What Cards would be useable with this expansion? My second question is concerning the audio output to the phono sockets on the back of the tower. The cables from them have become disconnected from the motherboard /added on board. Can anyone please tell me where they should be reconnected to.A picture or diagram would be really appreciated.

Hi Mick, you can use most zorro 2 boards, and some zorro 3 boards (in zorro 2 mode).
There is also expansion for the powerflyer z4 and the mediator z4.
You could use the video slot, however you will need a video slot adapter if there is not one already attached. Amigakit had them in stock last time I visited the site.

Check out the BBoAH (Big book of amiga hardware) and the Amiga hardware database (amiga.resource.cx) for more info.

As far as the audio is concerned, you can either
1) attach the audio input leads to the audio out of your CD rom drive (assuming you have one)
or
2) solder the leads to the audio out connectors on your motherboard.
There is no audio header on the a1200 motherboard. Personally I never saw the point of having the phono out on the power tower (except to connect to the CD rom drive).

Welcome!

Heres the direct link for the Z4 video adapter if required, the picture may help identify what you have:

I have to say that I've allready got a scandoubler and powerflyer installed onto my 1200 motherboard.I guess then I'm looking towards a graphic card that will work in the Zorro IV busboard and some sort of network card that would give me access to the internet through my broadband modem either by cable or wireless.

Perhaps I should rephrase my question as which would be the best graphics card to go into the Zorro IV busboard? Also which would be the best network card to connect via a broadband modem (wireless and or cable)?

was there a version for thr cv64/3d?

could u use a toaster with a video slot?

i have a bvision and rather not go back to using my cv64/3d, would there be any point in having a video slot?

if you have a bvision don't go using a zorro RTG, that would be slower.
the videoslot will let you use videoslot sd/ff or the pIV, or some video-editing card , as long as it does not use DMA...
there is no zorro busboard for the 1200 that has DMA...
