Ok so I got your interest :),

What is the most reliable and cost effective way to add USB support to a A4000?

Thats simple: Either a Highway or an Algor. A Highway is slightly cheaper to get.
Not really interesting, but it`s there.

or get a kickflashOS4 and a subway...
both are new products, found in amiga stores like amigakit.com
