cyberstormppc no ppc on startup
« on: October 29, 2006, 07:54:52 AM »
As the title says the ppc on the cyberstorm is not been recognized.
As soon as I remove the card and clean the contacts and plug it back in it works again.
But after a day or so the ppc is not been recognized again.
If it is there it runs ok no problem(playing an avi for a hour or so).
Thinking about selling and go for pegasos...
Maybe if I get a good price for the cyberstormppc which is also missing a ground pin on the connector(nothing to do with not being recognized.)
Also a fastlane Z3 is fitted here and a mediator 4000D setup in elbox tower.
And a delfina hooked to a isdn surfer.
Also a GVP iV/24 for scandoubler is fitted.
If price in total will buy me a pegasos I will sell...I think
I still got me a 1200 for gaming.

Sounds like a classic overheating problem...  Or possibly a low voltage problem.   Are you using the stock OEM power supply?  The one I got was a total piece of junk.  I round-filed it immediately and got a quality 650W Suntec.  Also have gale force blast of cool O2 aimed at the PPC chip.
Primary:
A4000T. Phase5 PPC604e-233mhz/060-66mhz. Mediator, Z3 Fastlane, Voodoo5, Delfina, X-Surf, AD516, Peggy Plus.

Collection:
A4000D, A1200, A500, Milan060 (Atari clone), Atari MegaSTE, Atari TT030, C64, C128, Mattel Aquarius, (2) HP Jornada....

How much for the Mediator (and presumably the bridge card so it actually works)?
